1. As Alderman, will you work to carry out the mandate of 55% of Fitchburg voters to build a library?

Yes.

I believe library service is a basic city service. Support for the library board's proposal among voters I've contacted is very strong: currently 158 supporting to 64 opposed (71%) city-wide and 113 to 40 (73%) in my district 4.

2. As Alderman, will you vote to authorize the city to borrow the necessary funds to build the library?

Yes.

Public buildings are built to high standards, and typically have a useful life of 100 years or more. It is appropriate to bond for such buildings, and the current state of the economy provides opportunities for cost savings in both construction and borrowing.
